Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring on the day?

Each participant will receive a 20/twenty backpack however you will need to bring the following with you:

  • Weather/event appropriate clothes and shoes
  • SPF 30+ Sunscreen
  • Snacks
  • Swimming costume
  • Goggles

What will I receive on the day?

Each participant will receive a 20/twenty backpack containing:

  • Swimming Cap
  • Beach Towel
  • Bottled Water
  • Course map and event rules
  • Garbage bag for wet clothing (swim wear)

Will I need to take my wet clothing/towel with me?

Not if you don't want to. Your wet clothes can be transported to Clontarf Reserve after the swim if you place them in the plastic bag provided which has your name on it.

How will I get back to my car if the event finishes in another location?

Volunteers from Cerebral Palsy Alliance will be available to drive participants’ cars from Shelly Beach to Clontarf Reserve. If you would like to utilise this service please contact us as soon as possible.

Do I need to fundraise?

Yes all teams are required to fundraise a minimum of $8,000 per team. All funds raised go towards providing essential communication and mobility equipment for children living with cerebral palsy.

What do I do in case of an emergency?

All participants will be sent a text message on Friday 6 April 2018 with the name and phone number of who to contact in case of an emergency during the event.
