My #1 Fundraising Tip!

Fellow 20/twenty Challenge participant Richard Harding’s #1 fundraising tip:

My number one tip for fundraising is actually pretty simple – keep asking.

I know that doesn’t sound like much at first glance, but trust me, the key to raising more money is never giving up.

Here’s how our team have mastered the art of the ask:

  • Ask 1: A simple phone call explaining what the event is all about
  • Ask 2: A follow up email with a bit more information and a link to donate
  • Ask 3: A follow up phone call where we talk more about the kids and suggest a gift amount to the person we’re speaking to. This year, we’ll be asking each person for a donation of $500 – $1000.
  • Ask 4: We generally spend the final month on the phone again, asking one more time as we do our very best to get to our big team goal.

Success in fundraising is just like success in the 20/twenty Challenge itself.

Yes, it takes some effort and endurance, but if you never give up, you’ll feel awesome at the end having raised so much money for kids who really need it!
